Outdoor Education Day 3 P5/6

10th Apr 2019

Farming came to school in a big way today with newborn lambs and Pygmy goats (thanks to Mrs Robinson) and a selection of tractors courtesy of Mr Erwin and Mr Farquhar. The children loved petting the day-old lambs and were amazed that they were already up and walking and feeding after such a short time. We observed the features of the tractors, drew our detailed sketches and discussed the size, age and power of the three tractors. The best bit was climbing into the cabs to appreciate the view and imagining ourselves as Orchard County farmers. Our house prize was a visit from Wee Critters and ECO committee also enjoyed the informative presentation where we met animals including a tarantula, skunk, owl, giant land snail, snake, lizard, tortoise and my favourite a white mouse called Stuart Little.
