Forest School
18th Apr 2024
We got into our waterproofs and welly boots for a fun morning in our school grounds. We learned about the rules and how to respond to the different whistles and set up our boundary flags. We thought about birds and what they are doing in Spring time. In teams, we had to think of a good place to build a nest and we got busy finding sticks, leaves, moss and long grass. The sticks were not to be longer than our arm so if we found a big one we had to break it into a smaller one. Some groups placed their nest under a hedge for shelter, some teams made extra cosy ones to keep the eggs warm and some decided to place flowers around it to disguise it and keep the eggs safe. We placed eggs inside our nests. It was fun but kept us busy and we thought about how amazing it is for birds to do this with their beaks and no hands! We reviewed our Forest School session and we all had so much fun!
