Platinum Jubilee celebrations in P1
We had a wonderful day celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We found out that the Queen’s first pet was her Shetland pony Peggy and even counted to 96! We designed Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle using Lego and bricks, before heading off to the hall for a special assembly. Mr Whippy the ice-cream man came which was a welcome surprise, just before our crown parade. Three children from our class were crowned winners for their crown designs, although all winners in Mrs Davidson’s eyes. The weather stayed dry for our outside lunch followed by cupcakes which were delicious! Before home time we visited the photo booth and met a very special visitor. Stories were all themed today around Queen Elizabeth 11 and her reign as monarch for 70 years.
