World Book Day is approaching and we’d like to celebrate it on Wednesday 4th March by getting P1-7 to dress up as a character from their favourite story or book. You do not have to go out and buy a costume, be creative with what you have at home! Have a look at the website www.worldbookday.com for some ideas. If you are looking to buy a costume, there are some great ones in local supermarkets. Anyone not wishing to take part can just come to school in their uniform as usual. On that day we’d also love all pupils to bring in one of their favourite books to share with their peers. We are really trying to encourage reading and this is a great way to get our children excited about characters and books. Please note that our Scholastic Book Fair will also be in school on this week (3rd – 6th March) so there’ll be lots of reading going on!
